Selborne Rivers Trip
Today, our year 6 children travelled down the road to Selborne to explore the features of a river. The day was split into two activities. For part of the day the children spent their time down at a small and shallow section of river where they were able to measure the depth and speed of the river channel and current as well as discover the wildlife that lives in the water. For the other half of the day the children, climbed a rather steep hill to look out over the land to see how a river changes over the three courses and to explore how settlements have developed around the river.
Although it did rain a little and it was rather chilly, the children had a great time getting to know rivers in a practical nature and where able to extend their classroom knowledge.
