This week, Year 4 pupils have transformed into scientists and have begun to investigate the effects of heat on an ice snowman. This introduces them to the idea of changing state, in particular, exploring the concept of melting.
In groups, pupils have been using data loggers to record the temperature of 3 different environments within the school to see how different temperatures affect the rate of melting. Observations were completed every hour with measurements recorded in order to observe change over time.
Pupils will be learning how to produce graphs from the data collected in order to draw valid conclusions.
