Hello everyone,

We hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to your summer holiday. We have received some fabulous art, computing, DT and science work in this week, as well as your English and maths. Below are some examples of work that has been sent to us. Thank you to all of you who sent work in                          

 

Some of you have been keeping very active! As we missed sports day at school, Dominic and his family decided to hold their own. It looked like great fun!

Well done to you all. We can see that you are still working really hard. In next week’s pack, you will find a message from your class teacher. We hope you enjoy reading them.

So Year 4, we are heading into the last week of school before the holidays and I am sure you have got some fantastic work that you would like to share. Year 3 Wow Wall

With only 2 more weeks to go, we have been blown away by the amount of amazing work that has been sent in once again. Your mystery stories in particular have been a pleasure to read so well done! A special mention this week goes out to Abhinav for his amazing recreation of Paul Gaugin's art work. The key worker children were so inspired by his use of colour, that they then produced their own masterpieces! 

We hope everyone is keeping safe and you are looking forward to new beginnings in Year 4. Hopefully everyone has found out their new teachers now. If not, then look on the website and check parent mail. You will have a familiar face with Mrs Jones moving up with you! We will of course miss you but I am sure we will see you around the school on a daily basis.

Year 5 WOW Wall

Hello again,

This week, the weather has been very changeable! We hope you have managed to get outside and have not been caught in the downpours! It has been lovely talking to some of you on the telephone and hearing about your activities and learning at home. Only two more weeks till the holidays!

Thank you to the children who sent in their pictures this week. Here are a selection of them. We have been very impressed with your creativity and crafting!

You will now know who your teacher will be in year 6. We are sure you are all feeling very excited – and a little nervous maybe! Today, you will receive a message that will allow you to access a recorded message from your new teacher via the school website. We hope you enjoy watching them.

Next Friday would have been the school’s sports day. Many of you have been practising your PE skills at home and some of you have been taking part in the senior school sports challenge, https://twitter.com/alderwood_pe so this week, we would like you to send in pictures of yourself  being active in any way you can, for us to display on the blog next week.

Hello Year 4 and thank you again for all your wonderful work! 

From creative creatures to creating boats, as well as some fabulous non-fiction writing - it has been an impressive range of work that you have sent us this week. 

Please do keep on sending us things - it is so inspiring to see all your wonderful learning that you are doing at home! 

We have a really open Creative Choice task for you in the next home learning pack - it will be fabulous to see all the different ideas that you come up with!

Year 3 Wow Wall

We come to the end of another amazing week. Not only have we had some superb work being sent in, we have had other photos showing the wonderful things you are doing at home! From horse riding, to making cakes and constructing revolting sandwiches, it looks like you have been having fun on top of the home learning you have been doing. Leighton, in 3J, has been busy learning about different countries from around the world. This week, he has been learning all about Japan and even making origami which isn't an easy thing to do. Well done Leighton!

We hope you have all had a lovely week and managed to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. We have been trying to keep cool in school despite the scorching temperatures. 

Remember, you are all super stars and we are so proud of your achievements!

Year 5 WOW WOW WOW Work!

Hello everyone,

Another week has passed and there are only three more weeks of term left. It has been a week of beautiful weather and we hope you have been able to get outside to enjoy it.

The children attending the key worker provision in school have been working hard as you can see below.

At home, you have also been busy. We have really enjoyed seeing the results of your creativity and hard work. There have been some wonderful art works created using natural resources.

We have also received some fabulous newspaper reports and topic work. Well done and thank you to Anouk, Liam, Chloe, Sebby, Megan, Etrat, Lilith, Dominic and William for sending in their photographs.

This has been our last week of Treasure Island. We hope you have enjoyed the story. We are really looking forward to reading your alternate endings to the story and seeing what else you have been up to. Don’t forget, to show us your work, or if you need help, you can email us on year5@alderwood.hants.sch.uk.
