Street Child

Year 5 have just finished reading Street Child by Berlie Doherty.

The children really enjoyed this book.

Victoria Lisle in 5E wrote:

"Street Child was a very emotional story. It made me think of how they lived in Victorian times. It was very sad and exciting at the same time"

Natasha Lobb, also in 5e wrote: " I thought Street Child was a fabulous book. I felt I had been taken back in time to the Victorian times and that I was right there with Jim Jarvis. I now know how poor Victorian children were treated.
Pictured are pupils from 5E holding up their copies of the book.

Next week we will begin to read an abridged version of Oliver Twist.
