Playing cards or exploring properties of numbers in Maths?

Year 5 have been playing cards in school.

There is an explanation though because we have been exploring the properties of numbers without having to work too hard.

For instance the children have been investigating statements about numbers and then using the cards to say whether the statements are true or false.

For instance:

The sum of an odd and an even number is always odd. TRUE or FALSE?

The product of an even and an odd number is always even. TRUE or FALSE?
