Watery word problems -solved.

Year 5 mathematicians have been hard at work this week solving word problems. Tricky word problems often involve using more than one operation to solve them.Mrs Fieldgate's maths group had to make sure they read the questions very carefully in order to answer some questions based around using water. Working in pairs year 5 examined a lot of facts and figures related to the amount of water people use throughout the day before answering questions comparing how two children used this valuable life giving liquid.

Did you know that leaving the tap running whilst cleaning your teeth can waste an amazing 15.75L of water?

If your doing maths think about the question and then figure out how to answer the problem!
