Iron Age Day in Year 3

Iron Age Day in Year 3!

Year 3 had a fantastic day taking part in the Iron Age Day workshop on Friday.

It was great to see all the pupils of Year 3 arriving in school dressed as if they really were living in the Iron Age.

The morning was spent learning all about the Iron Age from Matt who had kindly brought in lots of artefacts for us to all have a look at!

Then the afternoon was spent making our very own shields and spear tips as well as taking part in warrior training where we learnt how to use spears or swords just like a real Iron Age warrior.

I think it's fair to say that everybody had a fantastic day and it helped us to enjoy our topic even more.

''My favourite part was when we had to pass artefacts along and we were allowed to touch them!'' Alyssa, 3H

''I loved making the shields because we go to put lots of different Iron Age designs on them!" Hollie, 3H

"My favourite part was sword training! I learnt how to defeat my dad when I got home!"

Take a look at some of our photographs from the day...
