World Book Day arrives at Alderwood Junior School!

Despite the 'Beast from the East' trying its best, World Book Day eventually went ahead on Friday 9th March. We have been looking forward to celebrating this event here at the Juniors for some time now, with our Infant School regularly taking part, we wanted to get involved too!

It was fantastic to see all our pupils arriving at school in a whole range of different book-themed costumes. From Harry Potter characters to a 'Boy in the Dress', our school had never looked to colourful!

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of activities. For some, these included a 'Guess the Character' fashion catwalk, Where's Wally hunt as well as listening to a national broadcast featuring many well known children's authors and illustrators among many others.

We also took part in 'Share a Story' where classes across the school paired up and pupils read to somebody else from another year group.

We all had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to celebrating it again next year!
