The B team boys played St Michaels B in a friendly yesterday (March 22nd) and came out victors 4-1 after conceding a goal in under 90 seconds!
It was a little worrying to concede a goal so quickly, but after a very tentative, competitive and even first half, the boys managed to equalize just before half time.

In the second half, they began to dominate and Jack scored the vital second goal with a great low shot. The boys created quite a few chances after this and Josh thundered a shot against the post before both he and Shaun added two more goals to make the final score 4-1 to Newport.
Both teams behaved impeccably and were a pleasure to referee. It was really pleasing to see how the boys have improved so much in confidence and ability. Josh, who has been an everpresent at football club training since the end of year 4 was outstanding and played his best game ever. Jordan stuck to his task as last man and played brilliantly, thumping the ball upfield.
Indeed, all the boys deserve praise for their great teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship.Well done!
