Lights, Camera Action!!!

Thanks for FONs each class in school is now the proud owner of a brand new Flip Video Camera.

We are able to use these in class to help us with our work. We can video what we are doing and play it back on the Interactive Whiteboard. The video cameras are part of our new classroom technology boxes which include digital cameras, digital microscopes and coming next some digital sounds recorders all these items help us use technology in exciting ways in our lessons.

We can also share our videos with you via our blog! - So watch out for our new video updates coming soon.

New football kits are here!

The new football shirts and shorts worn by the girls have kindly been donated by FONS.

Despite being ordered in July, they only arrived this week!

The school now has two red and white Prostar football kits and a set of red and black tracksuits.

All the kits have the embroidered school badge.

Shona Ashburner, captain said "They're great, but I bet the boys will want to wear them!"

Federation Summer Fair

The Federation School Fair was a great success! We had lovely weather and lots of fun! We raised just under £1500 in total for FOBS and FONS to share. It was a lovely day and we were even treated to some dancing shows put on by both schools! Thank you to all that helped make the day so much fun and we look forward to next year!!!

FOBS and FONS SUMMER FAIR 2009

This year the Federation's joint Summer Fair will be held at Belle Vue Infant School on Saturday 13th June 2009. 11am to 2pm. Watch out for more news!

FONs Christmas Fair

Today we held the annual Friends of Newport School Christmas Fair. The evening began with the Choir singing some Christmas carols at 6pm. By 6.30pm the Fair was well underway. Thank you to everyone who came to support our school. We raised just over £1000.

It was also nice to see Miss Peacock and Mrs Thorndike demonstrating to us their excellent hot dog cooking and selling skills. We love the hats ladies but don't give up your day job!

New Musical Instruments!

We would like to say a big thank you to FONs for buying us some new musical instruments. FONs have donated over £1000 to give us lots of new types of instruments that we have not had before...

Ask your children to tell you about the frog güiro and the cabasa! *

This is just a selection. Your children will be making excellent music with them soon.

* Or you can find out yourself here and here...
