Y5 Trip to Brenscombe

The week before half term 45 Year 5 children went to Brenscombe Outdoor Centre, Corfe Castle, Dorset. Over the week we all did lots of different activities. This was a really end to our unit of work called 'It's a cliffhanger' where we look at different coastlines and learn about how they were formed.

On Monday, we went on a walk over to Corfe Castle.

Tuesday was a day visiting the seaside town of Swanage. We conducted a traffic survey, shop survey, people survey as well as spending time on the beach looking at the features of the beach.

We also worked in groups to create some beach sculptures.

On Wednesday we had a day at the activity centre where there were lots of things to do. We all had a go at abseiling.

Archery

Initiative trials

Rifle shooting
Low Ropes course

Climbing

Teamwork activites

In the evening we had vaiours activities including a talent show and a fashion show.

On Thursday we visited Studland Bay and had two talks from the National Trust about the habitats on the sand dunes and at the coast as well as how the bay area has been formed.

We had a really good time and thankfully the weather was kind to us all week.
