It's all Greek to me!

GREEK DAY!

As part of our Eureka topic, Year 6 enjoyed the opportunity to be transported back to Ancient Greece today.

We all participated in a Greek drama workshop, led by Theatre Exchange, during which we transformed ourselves into Athenians and learnt about daily life and times of war.

As well as this, both classes were able to make and taste some traditional Greek foods.

In tribute to Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War (and patron of Athens), we constructed our own 3D Parthenon pictures.

We also made Ancient Olympic torches, in preparation for London 2012!

It was a great day. Particular thanks go to Mrs Fry, Mrs Wiseman and Mrs Carter for their help with making Greek dishes (and to Mr. Kellett for providing his beloved Greek soundtrack for the day)!
