Following in Miss Twell's Footsteps!
Inspired by Rio 2016, 4 members of Newport Junior School took part in the first Cross Country Fun Run at Samuel Cody Sports College earlier today.
Samuel Cooper, Sandesh Chhetri, Maisy Knight and Ella Bento (many of whom were competing for the first time in this event) all showed great perseverance as they took on the two laps of Samuel Cody's sports field; running a total distance of approximately 1000m!
With around 50 boys and 50 girls taking part in separate races, all four children showed spectacular performances taking on the autumn weather and achieving personal bests! A special mention should go to Maisy Knight who finished 10th and Samuel Cooper who finished 6th!
After all finishing with smiles on their faces, I am sure they are all having a well deserved rest. Well done to all the children who took part.
