On Monday morning, we went to Connaught secondary school for a music workshop. In the first session, we were taught a short song, In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg, as a warm up. We were then divided into small groups up to five pupils and were given a section of a story to retell using only musical instruments. One group did The Three Little Pigs, whilst the other group focused on The Tortoise and the Hare. After choosing our instruments, we were given time to practise our composition before performing it to the whole year group.
We had a brilliant time working together to compose a piece of music and it was a great opportunity to become familiar with the school and the teachers!
