Kyle clinches a late draw at St. Michael's

Newport boys B team earned a thrilling draw against their corresponding B team on a very, very wet night on Thursday, November 12th.

Playing in the very old, unfamiliar, white kits, the boys played well in the first half, pressing the home team back without creating any really clear scoring chances. However, St Michaels had one direct shot on goal and scored just before half time.

The second half saw St Michael's score a deserved second goal to lead 2-0.

With the fresh legs of Ben getting some strong tackles in, the Newport boys began to attack more frequently.

Finally, Newport created a few clear chances but still couldn't score!

Near the end, Sezer pulled a goal back and the boys raised their game . In the gloom and driving rain, Kyle shot past the goalie to level the game with minutes to spare. What a comeback!

The referee blew soon after with the final score at 2-2, which was probably a fair result.

Well done boys, a really, really good team effort. Special mention must go to Sezer who played really well in midfield and to Pete who came on at half time and made a significant difference with his great attacking runs and general play.
