Reggae-tastic food on cultural day

Year 5 have been learning about Jamaican culture.

All the children have had a fun time learning about different aspects of West Indian culture.

We have covered aspects of history, geography, trade and tourism as well as researching information about famous Jamaicans.

The highlight was a Jamaican feast prepared by Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Dixon. The children really enjoyed tasting the lovely flavours of curry "goat", jerk chicken , deep fried plantain and too many foods too mention.

Mrs Lloyd demonstrated some of the herbs and foods used in West Indian cooking.
