Netflix Party and Wow Work!

It's Fri-yay!

We have nearly made it to the weekend!

We hope you have had an educational week of home learning and have managed to complete your home learning packs. As it is Friday, I am again thinking ahead to the weekend like last week and there is a more social aspect to the blog again as it is important for you to be keeping in touch with your friends and family.

I have made an excellent discovery for those of you who have access to Netflix – you can now watch Netflix with your friends virtually! That’s right, you can watch your favourite shows on Netflix while in your home with your friend who is safely in theirs! I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but hopefully will this weekend maybe with the other year 6 teachers!

Rather than me explain badly how to use it, here is a link to a website that explains how you can set up the virtual watching! You will need to download the Netflix party app (this currently only works on a chrome browser on a desktop or laptop) and then sync with your friends to start watching.

We have also had a couple of children email in about video chatting with their friends on sites like Zoom. If you are one of these people, then why not hold a quiz for your friends! You can take it in turns to be the quiz master, creating and asking questions – you can even link your quiz rounds to your current school topics like Ancient Egypt or Year 6 SATs because we all know that you are disappointed to be missing those! It could even become a weekly event with a new quiz master each week! I am hosting one for my friends this weekend!

Finally, we would like to share with you some of the incredible work that has been sent in by our year 6 children this week. We have had a fantastic piece of writing from Clark, lots of completed SATs papers and Pop Art work from Kayanat (I chose my favourite to include) and some excellent work from Thalia - my personal favourite is how she practically solved the hexagon maths investigation! Keep up the hard work year 6!

Let me know how you get on and happy watching!

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Parker
